Two weeks ago I was on an elevator. The door opened, a woman stepped inside, pushed a button and on we went. After a few seconds she said to me, “How nice to hear someone singing”. The elevator stopped at her floor and smiling broadly she went on her way. Alone once more I laughed to myself and continued singing softly.
As the day went on, her words stayed with me and I started to consider the deeper meaning behind them. Her reaction to my voice made me realize how much music we hear, but how rarely we live it as adults.
