Long ago and far away

Long ago and far away I woke up with a pain one day Though its origin was mysterious The strength of it left me near delirious It stayed for one week and just vanished Quite shocking given the force it had brandished Then without notice again it returned So repeatedly that I became concerned Every part of my body it scoured My fat, muscle, strength all devoured Hours waxed to days, weeks, months then years Frequent trips to ‘Emergency’ fed my swelling fears It’s this, no it’s that, no it’s nothing at all From partaking in life came my forced withdrawal 4,536 days...

2 Points of View

I wrote these poems March 4th 2011. They were inspired by the photo included here. I was struck by the awkwardness of the bike in the water. There were so many energies that I felt when looking at the image; pain, confusion, helplessness.
